Institute Arrival Information

There is no shuttle service or public transportation from the Honolulu Airport to Coconut Island’s pier on Lilipuna Road. In addition, there is no parking on Coconut Island. Visitor parking is currently located at the Windward Mall in Kāne‘ohe (see map) with shuttle van service to Lilipuna Pier/Coconut Island. After parking at the Windward Mall you can either wait for the shuttle (pick up is every 15-20 minutes) or call the shuttle at (808) 218-2014 for pick-up. The visitor parking area is also the site for shuttle van pick-up and drop-off.

Driving Directions to Windward Mall (parking for HIMB)

From Honolulu:

Drive H1 West bound
Take (63) Likelike Highway
Then (83) Kahekili Highway Exit
Turn right on Haiku Road
Windward Mall is located at Haiku Road and Kamehameha Highway

From the West Side of Oahu:

Drive H3 East bound toward Kāneohe
Take Kāneohe Exit (#9) onto (63) Likelike Highway
Then (83) Kahekili Highway Exit
Turn right on Haiku Road
Windward Mall is located at Haiku Road and Kamehameha Highway

HIMB parking is within the Windward Mall parking area. Shuttle van service is provided from the Windward Mall to Lilipuna Pierparking every 15–20 minutes. You can also call (808) 218-2014 to ask for a shuttle.

** Please let your HIMB sponsor know of your arrival so they can meet you at the HIMB lighthouse opposite Lilipuna Pier.
