"Wireless in Hawai'i"
Guests:
Mike Browning, Chief Operating Officer, Pacific DirectConnect Inc.
Jerry Stabile, VP & Regional Manager, Highspeed.com
Host: David Lassner, Director of Information Technology Services, University of Hawai'i

Wireless communication is one of the hottest trends in telecommunications. But there are many kinds of wireless services, from high speed point-to-point connections that involve fixed hardware on rooftops or towers to ubiquitous mobile services using personal digital assistants. Some services are appropriate for building owners and large businesses, and some can improve personal safety, professional productivity or quality of life. The next generation of mobile services beyond pagers and phones includes wireless web browsing, customized information services, personal video, and combinations of the above.

October High Tech Hawaii guests will include representatives from several of the companies involved in providing a wide range of wireless services in Hawaii. They will describe the current environment in Hawaii with an emphasis on what's available today, and speculate about the future of the industry and what Hawaii consumers can expect.
