CDS Gears up for the Abled Hawaii Artists’ Festival

AHA Arts: Abled Hawaii Artists Festival

Abled Hawaii Artists’ Festival (or AHA Arts!) is taking place on July 27th at Kapiolani Community College, and on July 26th at the Hawaii Community College on the Big Island. We are also the only celebration of Americans with Disabilities Act and are now in our 5th year!

The Abled Hawaii Artists’ Festival is a great family activity that is largely attended and publicized. It is also fun and free! Participants will enjoy live entertainment by Vaihi, The What, Wela, Jason Uesato and more, an art sale, mural painting, glass blowing and mouth painting demonstrations, and much much more! This is also the first year a juried artist exhibit has been incorporated into the AHA event. You are all invited to participate in a day of music, art, food, and community.

The purpose of this event is to change social perceptions of disabilities by highlighting the abilities of others and providing a community event that brings all people together through a family art festival. AHA Arts also helps to connect young people with disabilities with role models in the community that are doing great things in the arts, who also have disabilities. This event is completely volunteer based and is not for profit.
