WRITING ACROSS THE CURRICULUM

 

Summer Institute

 

Overview

The WAC+ Summer Institute is for college teachers in all programs and subject areas.

 

The WAC+ Summer Institute will assist participants in

                   Using writing as a tool for thinking and learning

                   Preparing to teach a writing intensive course

                   Gaining confidence and practice in their own personal writing

                   Exploring effective approaches to teaching and learning

 

Participants will learn about WAC techniques through

                   Peer Collaboration

                   Writing Groups

                   Peer and Staff Presentations

 

Time and Place

          Kapi`olani Community College

          May 19-30, 2008

          8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

 

NOTE:  Participants are encouraged to also sign up for the WAC+ Assessment Institute, June 2-5 2008 at Kapi`olani Community College. Contact Shel Hershinow for details and application form.

 

Support for this Program

KCC faculty will receive a stipend of $200. Faculty from other campuses will need to make arrangements with their own campus administration.
