There are basically three membership options. You can choose not to be a member, you can become a member, or you can become a secure member.

No Membership

The Honolulu Chapter will be holding public meetings from time to time. We will invite guest speakers to discuss topics that are related to protecting our information infrastructure. These meetings will be open to the public, and anyone interested in attending is welcome. You may request to receive periodic information regarding InfraGard, to include public meeting announcements.

Membership

The Honolulu Chapter also holds quarterly meetings. The meeting is a working "roundtable" designed to facilitate communication about recent issues affecting information infrastructures. The meeting begins with a report by the FBI on significant events. Chapter business is also handled.

Members are entitled to attend the quarterly meeting and vote on chapter matters. Additionally, members can serve as an officer or committee member within the local chapter, and can serve as an officer on the National InfraGard Board.

All members are required to execute the InfraGard Membership Agreement, and agree to the InfraGard Code of Ethics.

Secure Membership

To facilitate information exchange, the National Infrastructure Protection Center (NIPC) maintains a secure website and secure email service for secure members. Through these services, Secure Members are entitled to receive sensitive, but non-classified information regarding issues related to protecting the United States critical infrastructures. The website is used to provide archival as well as non-urgent information. The email service is used to push urgent information to members as well as receive information from members through a secure medium.

All Secure Members are required to execute the InfraGard Secure Server Agreement. This agreement is a legal contract between an organization and NIPC which provides the ground rules for how information obtained through the server can be used. Secure Members must also designate a representative authorized to receive information by executing the Secure Server Designated Representative Form. The designated representative must also execute the InfraGard Membership Agreement.

An important destinction is that Secure Membership involves organizations, not individuals. For example, if a bank employee would like access to the secure server, the bank must execute the agreement and designate the individual as their representative.
