Why Study at the University of Hawai‘i?

At the University of Hawai'i (UH) students have many options. Our 10 campuses are located throughout the state of Hawai'i and offer a variety of programs and a range of certificates and degrees. As the sole system of public higher education in Hawai'i, we provide students with a value-added benefit: articulated pathways across a system.

Hawai‘i’s position between east and west, in the middle of the Pacific, creates opportunities for international leadership and influence. Asia/Pacific expertise permeates the university’s activities and programs.     UH is a distinctive American university:  Our flagship campus, Manoa, is recognized nationally in the U.S. as a land-grant, sea-grant, and space-grant university.  It also includes eight Pacific and Asian Area Studies programs and teaches more than 25 languages.  Our campuses reflect our distinctiveness and diversity:  among our student body, no one ethnic group is a majority.
