
Step One: Attend an orientation. Orientations
can be scheduled by calling the Interdisciplinary Studies Program
at 956-7297. We are located in Krauss Hall 116.
Step Two: (Requirements
for a B.A.: A minimum total of 120 credits, out of which 45 credits must be in upper division
courses.)
Step Three: Make an appointment with your Interdisciplinary
Studies advisor to work on your proposal. On the average, you will
need three to five meetings.
Step Four: With the help of your Interdisciplinary
Studies advisor, locate a faculty advisor in your area of specialization
and meet with him or her as needed. Deadline for submitting a complete,
signed proposal: All acceptable, signed proposals must be submitted
no later than 21 credits before your planned date of graduation.
Turn in original and 2 copies of the final draft proposal. The proposal
must be: 1. Properly formatted 2. Include signatures of yourself
and faculty advisor 3. Include a completed Major Transfer Request.
Step Five: Proposal reviewed by Interdisciplinary
Studies staff member
Step Six: Internal review by Interdisciplinary
Studies staff
Step Seven: Accept with revision or Accept without
revisions or Reject
Step Eight: Final review by the Dean of Arts and
Sciences
GPR requirements for graduation:
- Earn a GPA of at least 2.5 in major equivalent
- Earn a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0
One Semester before graduation:
- Complete Goldenrod form with Interdisciplinary Studies
- Attend a graduation (GRAD) session at Arts and Sciences for
a senior check
- Check on additional graduation requirements with Arts and Sciences
21 Credit Rule: Remember!
At the time your proposal is accepted, you MUST have
AT LEAST 21 credits of course work still to undertake
in your Major Equivalent subsequent semesters or terms.
