Federal
(U.S) Tax Resources for International Students
Free
Tax Assistance for International Students:
The
University
of
Texas Austin
has a great self-help website and invites all international
students from any school to use it.
It is easy to navigate and understand.
From this site you can download the commonly used IRS
forms and you can learn how to complete them, free of charge.
Go to:
http://www.utexas.edu/international/taxes/
See the official IRS international resources at the
website below:

This website for internationals is a part of the larger
IRS official website. It
provides good resources and information for internationals in
the
US
, but gives most students
more than they need.
However, it can be helpful if your tax situation is
complex, or if you want to do more research on international
taxation.

VITA/TCE Publication 678-FS for use in preparing tax
This
is the training document used by the IRS to train their
volunteers to help foreign students and scholars. (At
present, Honolulu does not have an active VITA volunteer to
assist UHM students.)
