Phishing Attempt: re:direct deposit (Sep 3 09:57 am)
A phishing attempt has been reported supposedly from the University of Hawaii. Please do NOT reply to the email or click on the link. Do NOT submit your personal information. The University of Hawaii will NEVER ask for your UH username and password in an email message. See: http://www.hawaii.edu/askus/898 for reporting a new/suspicious email targeting UH usernames.
ITS has received a report of a new variation on the "Are you available?" type of email (refer to the alert posted at https://www.hawaii.edu/its/alerts/?t=3&id=10001), being sent with UH officials' names attached. Please remain alert and be sure to always check the "From" email address. Sample message:
[employee's name] ,
Hope your day is going well? I need to change my salary account
(direct deposit) for payroll and I want it effective by next pay date.
I need your assistance to go about it. Please how can you assist me?
