Datamarts

UH utilizes several systemwide informational databases available only to authorized users:

• Banner SIS Operational Data Store (ODS)
  A student-reporting database populated with information from the Banner registration system and used for operational as well as analytical reports. The software choice for developing and disseminating reports using ODS data is Discoverer.
• Financial Datamart
  This database contains Financial Management Information System (FMIS) data and provides users the ability to generate financial reports through the use of the web-based Discoverer reporting tool.
• Human Resources
  A database of UH current and historical information on personal, employment, and position data of faculty and staff, updated daily from the university's PeopleSoft Human Resource System.
• Student Information Management System (SIMS)
  A database of student and course information for systemwide analytical reports. Contains census and end-of-semester slice-in-time data from all 10 campuses, extracted from the pre-Banner SIS registration system. SIMS eventually will be replaced by ODS.

eInventory

A systemwide web-based application that provides a quick means of accessing FMIS fixed asset information. The application includes updates in selected fields allowing for efficient tracking and management of assets.

ePurchasing

A systemwide application that interfaces with SuperQuote™ and FMIS for processing requisitions, purchase orders, and interdepartmental orders. The application also manages payment for these documents.

eTravel

A systemwide application for online Travel Requests, Advances, and Reimbursements for all university travel.

Financial Management Information System (FMIS)

A purchased application that has been extensively enhanced and customized to support university practices.

• eDeposits
  Is used to generate and record Deposit forms (U-docs).
• eFMIS http://www.fmo.hawaii.edu/efmis
  Provides users with Web access to their financial account information and access to applications that enable processing of their documents. Applications developed include: Deposits, Inventory, and Purchasing.

Online Swap Meet

The UH Online Swap Meet allows departments to post descriptions of surplus equipment and materials available for transfer to other departments. Users may post descriptions of desired items and choose to be notified when new items are posted.

PeopleSoft HRMS

UH Office of Human Resources, Personnel Officers, and their designated representatives use the PeopleSoft (PS) Human Resource System (HRS) to manage faculty, administrative, and executive staff employment, position, and personal data.

Phone Services, Manoa Campus

Phone service is provided to offices, labs and residences on the Manoa campus. Services include: basic telephone, data connections/activations, voicemail, long distance, and audio conference bridges. All requests for service or repairs are coordinated through the ITS Telecommunications User Services group.

Site Licensing & Discount Agreements

A variety of computer software is made available to university departments at discounted prices under agreements made by the Site Licensing office with software companies. Current information and price lists are available on the Web.

Student, Casual, Overload Payroll Information System (SCOPIS)

A systemwide application payroll processing system for Students, Casual Hires, and UH employees on overload status. Payroll information is transmitted to the State of Hawai'i's payroll office for final processing.

Student Employment Site

UH administers this application to provide students with up-to-date information on employment opportunities. The Student Employment Site interfaces systemwide with both the Banner Student Information System for automated student eligibility and SCOPIS for online payroll transactions.

Student Information System

UH has implemented the Banner Student and Financial Aid software as the university's integrated online student information system. The system integrates services across different academic and student support functions for all 10 UH campuses.

UH Purchasers enter materials request information into the website of this paperless purchasing system, vendors then enter their price quotations via the Web, Purchasers view all quotations at a glance and award purchase to the vendor with the lowest qualified quotation.

UH Username and Password Management

Faculty, staff, and students are provided with a unique UH Username and password that allows access to online services offered by the university. Once your account is established you may change your password; manage email, file quotas, and spam handling; set up mailing lists and web pages; and more.
