12:15 – 1:30 pm WAC+ Workshop: Assignment Design Ilima 202C

Did you know that KCC began emphasizing writing as a way of learning way back in 1980? It's no wonder that writing across the curriculum is part of the culture of KCC. Using writing in your classroom is a great way to deepen your students’ critical thinking about and integration of whatever lesson you’re teaching. Come to this workshop to explore some effective and engaging ways to use writing/thinking assignments as a process for helping students learn the course content. Colette Higgins (History) and Nani Azman (Psychology) will show how they use formal writing/thinking assignments in their classes. Facilitator: Shel Hershinow
