’Tis Pity She’s a Whore AT THE KENNEDY THEATRE!

The University of Hawai‘i at Manoa’s Department of Theatre and Dance presents the play, “’Tis Pity She’s a Whore”, by John Ford directed by Dennis Carrol. “’Tis Pity She’s a Whore” will be performed at the Kennedy Theatre December 5, 6, 11, 12 and 13 at 8 p.m. and 14 at 2 p.m.

Shocking even today, “’Tis Pity She’s a Whore” revels in farce, black comedy, violence and riveting eroticism. Like Romeo and Juliet on speed, ’Tis Pity’s incestuous lovers are surrounded by sexual intrigue, murder and religious corruption. Written in the 1600s and reset in the 1980s we see that1633 and 1985 are not so different from today.

Tickets for “’Tis Pity She’s a Whore” go on sale Monday, November 24 at the Kennedy Theatre Box Office. Tickets may be purchased in person or charged-by-phone at 956-7655 (v/t) Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 regular, $12 seniors, military, UH faculty/staff, $10 non-UHM students, $3 UHM students with validated Fall 2003 UHM photo ID.
