Auditions!

Auditions for Lois Lowry's acclaimed Newberry Award-winning novel The Giver will be held Monday, April 30 and Tuesday, May 1 from 8-10pm in the Substage of Kennedy Theatre. If necessary, callbacks may be held on Wednesday, May 2 from 8-10pm, also in the Substage.

Director Mark Branner is looking for a wide range of actors to audition for this unique TYA (theatre for young audiences) piece, including seasoned actors over the age of 60 and younger actors under the age of 20. Those auditioning are asked to prepare a monologue of approximately two minutes that demonstrates range and ability. Additionally, actors may be asked to read from the stage adaptation of the piece. Scripts for the play are available at the main office of the Department of Theatre and Dance.

Performances for The Giver will take place on the Kennedy Theatre mainstage from September 21 – 30, 2012. School shows for fourth grade and above are offered at 9am and 10:45am for Monday, September 24, 2012 through Thursday, September 27, 2012.
