•APIASF Asian and Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund—It is the only organization devoted to providing scholarships to Asian and PAcific Islander American students who wish to pursue higher education to have opportunity regardless of their ethnicity, national origin or financial means.

•ASK (Advanced Study of Khmer, Summer Abroad Program in Cambodia)
•FLAS
Fellowship—Khmer is one of the languages for
the Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowships. These
are available to classified graduate students who have US citizenship
or permanent residence and who combine modern foreign language
training with area/professional studies. Academic yearly award
is $11,000 (stipend and tuition). Summer award is $2,400 stipend
and up to $3,600 tuition.

L. Boren Graduate Fellowship—The National Security
Education Program (NSEP) David L. Boren Graduate Fellowships
enable U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to pursue specialization
in area and language study or to add an international dimension
to their education.
•Blakemore
Freeman Fellowship—is awarded for one year of advanced
language study in East or Southeast Asia, including Khmer, in
structured language programs or private tutorial programs where
the primary focus is on study of the modern language.
•East-West Center Graduate Fellowship—The East-West Center promotes understanding and cooperation among the governments and peoples of Asia, the Pacific, and the United States through research, education and seminar programs. Each year, the Center grants scholarships to degree fellows from all over the region through various scholarship programs, for graduate (and undergraduate) studies at the University of Hawai‘i.
•The Freeman Foundation—awards
grants for undergraduate study in Asia, including Cambodia.
These are available to all undergraduate Asian Studies majors
and minors at the University of Hawaii, preferably sophomore
or junior standing. The award amount is up to $7,000 to support
airfare, living abroad, and study costs.

•Henry
Luce Foundation Program—offers a select group of American
university graduates a year in Asia. Candidates must be US citizens
who have earned at least a bachelor's degree, are no more than
27 years old, and have records of high academic achievement
combined with leadership qualities. The basic scholarship for
each Luce scholar is $9,000 plus airfare.
