Purpose
The purpose of the Conference is to highlight graduate research in Asia and
the Pacific from all disciplines, both at the University of Hawai'i and at other
universities. For this year's Conference, we are seeking as wide a variety of
presentations as possible. We are open to all topics and subjects. The call for
papers and application form will be posted shortly.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded for best papers in the following
categories: China Japan Korea Southeast Asia Pacific and the
Moscotti Award for the 2 best papers by UH students.
Abstracts
Abstracts of papers should be submitted by January 12, 2004. A form in
MS Word document format is available for download

The Conference has no travel support for off-island participants.
The SHAPS Graduate Student Conference immediately precedes the United Nations
University (Tokyo)/School for Hawaiian, Asian and Pacific Studies Global Seminar
Hawai'i, 19 - 22 March 2004. Please see the announcement here
Housing information for off-island participants will be announced
shortly.
Volunteers to help plan the Conference are solicited.
