Our Career Services Office provides a variety of services to meet the recruiting needs of employers. We also offer a vital link between our legal community and our law students and alumni. Our staff works closely with employers to provide them access to the best and brightest of Hawai'i's legal talent.

Services for employers include: a Job Listing service, On-Campus Interview Programs, a collection of employer recruiting materials, and tailor-made opportunities to network with and recruit our students and alumni.

Overview

Please note that our office does not prescreen applicants or refer candidates. However, we welcome employers to post notices and contact our office for references regarding candidates who have submitted applications.

Non-Discrimination Policy

All employers wishing to participate in the on-campus interview (OCI) program and/or on-campus recruiting activities must sign an acknowledgment form indicating they have read and will adhere to the non-discrimination policy of University of Hawai'i, William S. Richardson School of Law. The School of Law non-discrimination policy statement is as follows:

The School of Law asks that all interviewers be familiar with fair employment and interview practices and that they refrain from making any illegal inquiries. In addition, the School of Law opposes, in the strongest terms, discrimination on the basis of race, color or national origin, gender, age, religion, physical disability, marital, parental or veteran status and sexual orientation. Employers who recruit on campus and utilize the placement services are expected to share this viewpoint and to act accordingly.

On-Campus Interview Programs

Each year, our office hosts on-campus interviews (OCIs) for approximately one month in the fall and one week in the spring. Our OCI program offers the following advantages to employers:

  • Flexible full or half-day schedules
  • Private interview rooms
  • No cost to employers
  • Free on-campus parking and light lunch provided for interviewers
  • Your website and information available to students

In addition to our traditional on-campus interview programs, we welcome employers to schedule on- and off-campus interviews throughout the academic year.

For our neighbor island judges and employers...

Recruiting for neighbor island positions can be difficult given the expense a student must bear to travel. In recent years, we have been very fortunate to have several neighbor island judges and employers travel to O'ahu to conduct on-campus interviews. Our neighbor island judges and employers are welcome to contact Amy Wiecking for more information about this option.

Please note: All employers wishing to participate in the on-campus interview program and/or on-campus recruiting must sign an acknowledgment form indicating they have read and will adhere to the non-discrimination policy of University of Hawai'i, William S. Richardson School of Law.

Access to Employer Information

Looking for a good "fit" is an important part of any career search. We strongly encourage our students to research potential employers before they apply for a position or sign up for an interview.

Students making career decisions based on information provided by employers is a critical key to meeting the needs of both employer and student. Thus, we maintain a collection of recruitment materials that provide information about employers, including demographics and firm culture.

We welcome employers to share your information with us. If you would like to be included in this valuable resource, please contact our career services office.
