| Two good friends of the law school passed away last week and will be warmly remembered. DEAN MARVIN J. ANDERSON was Interim Dean here in the early 1980's and was then appointed Chancellor for the UH Manoa campus as well as Vice-President of the East West Center. He was formerly the Dean at Hastings Law School in California. Dean Anderson made many contributions to our school and our university. Among his lasting legacies was the construction of our current law school and law library buildings. A memorial service will be planned. Fritzie Bright, the wife of JUDGE MYRON BRIGHT, senior circuit judge for the United States Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit, also passed away after a lengthy illness. JUDGE BRIGHT started the Jurists-in-Residence Program at the law school in 1987 by inviting and accompanying several US Supreme Court Justices to Hawai'i. Fritzie regularly accompanied Judge Bright and became good friends to many in the law school community. INTERNATIONAL LAW DAY will be held at the law school on Tuesday, November 14, as a part of International Education Week highlighting UH Manoa International Research and Education Programs.
