| A revised Tentative Schedule Class Schedule will be published this week indicating the most current classroom times and room changes. |
| A new meeting room is now available - Room 201. It accommodates 22 chairs around a long conference table. Contact the Associate Dean's office for room reservations (956-8395). |
| The seminar rooms were designed to hold 8 tables and 20 chairs. Although you are free to move the tables and chairs around during your class period, please return them to their original placement. A diagram is posted on each seminar room door. |

| JOHN BARKAI spoke at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) executive education project this past November in Bangkok which he attended as the U.S. representative. While in Thailand, Prof.Barkai also participated in a day long seminar to the Thai bar and business community on ADR and Debt Restructuring. DAVID CALLIES is at Vanderbilt University Law School teaching land use and a takings seminar for the spring term. Prof. Callies reports the weather is cold (low 20's and some snow) but the country/western music is good - and the 50 meter indoor swimming pool is great! |
| Former VISITING PROFESSOR TAKASHI MARUTA has recently been appointed in charge of establishing a law school at Kwansei Gakuin in Japan. He and the Osaka Citizen Committee for Promoting Judicial System Reform will be visiting our law school on February 26 to March 1, 2001. |
| JON VAN DYKE and Jerry Burris of the Honolulu Advertiser will participate in a lively discussion on the Marcos human rights litigation and its implications on international human rights law. Prof. Belinda Aquino, Director of the Center for Philippine Studies will moderate the event to be held at the law school on Wednesday, February 28 beginning at 5:30 pm. The discussion will be followed by a reception honoring Prof. Van Dyke's newest book, "International Law and Litigation in the U.S." published by West. |
| Two of the four state judges profiled in the Winter issue of 'Imi Loa have served as adjuncts at the law school during their law careers. SUPREME COURT JUSTICE SIMEON ACOBA taught at the law school in the 1970's. CIRCUIT COURT JUDGE RICHARD POLLACK ran our Defense Clinic for many years and also taught Evidence during his 10 years as an adjunct. |
