Aloha, Vice President Smith:

Per your request, below is the list of recommendations for the Screening Committee for University Librarian compiled by the Library Senate Executive Board. The list of seven names was compiled from the recommendations of librarians and staff, with 23 of the total 137 library staff voting. The recommended names are:

· Karen Choy, Serials Department, Library Tech VII

· Thelma Diercks, Head of Acquisitions, Librarian IV

· Gregg Geary, Head of Sinclair Library, Librarian IV

· Ted Kwok, Humanities Librarian, Librarian IV

· Susan Murata, Head of Access Services, Librarian III

· Karen Peacock, Pacific Curator, Librarian V

· Paul Wermager, Science and Technology Librarian, Librarian III

Regarding the Interim University Librarian, some people recommended several names, and so a vote count would not be very reliable. However, Jean Ehrhorn was recommended by a majority of the voters. In addition, Paula Mochida, Pat Polansky, Karen Peacock, Larry Osborne, and Carol Schaafsma were also mentioned. I trust that you received the earlier memo voicing the Library Senate Executive Board's support of Jean Ehrhorn.

I have informed all library staff of the results above. I also reminded them that you might choose the four or five library representatives to the Screening Committee based on recommendations other than our list. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to provide input.
