Here's how to read a call number:

The first letter "B" is the general subject area: Philosophy, Psychology, Religion.

The second letter "C" is a more specific subject within Philosophy, Psychology, and Religion — Logic.

Some UH libraries assign call numbers to periodicals (magazines and journals) and shelve them with the books, so that all materials about a subject are in one place. Other UH libraries shelve periodicals separately by title.
