Research materials you will most likely use for college research papers include:

• Articles from scholarly journals
• Articles from popular magazines
• Newspapers
• Web sites

Your instructor may have specific instructions on what you can and cannot use for your paper. Consult with your instructor first to find out what s/he will not accept, as some Instructors restrict the number of Web sources a student can use. Some Instructors only want book and article sources.

A growing number of students rely too heavilty on questionable Internet sources. Anyone can publish anything to the Web, index it in Google, and appear in your browser. Much of Google is not filtered, so the accuracy truthfulness, or reliability of information found there is doubtful. You will learn how to evaluate Web sites later on in LILO.
