Periodical Indexes

To find journal and magazine articles on your topic, use a "periodical index."

Periodicals are journals, magazines, and newspapers published periodically on a daily, weekly, bimonthly, monthly, quarterly, or semi-annual basis. Articles are indexed and made available as citations in print and online periodical indexes. Citations contain important information about the article and where you can find it. A keyword search on "autism" pulls up the following:

Though many articles are available in full text online, articles published prior to 1980 are only available in printed form. You will need to use print periodical indexes (such as Reader's Guide to Periodical Literature) to find older articles.

UH libraries have many print journals and magazines. To find a particular issue, search Hawai'i Voyager to see which library has the print journal or magazine available.
