Would you like a formatted report that assesses your students' responses to questions in LILO according to nationally recognized information literacy standards and rubrics?
It's fast and easy to get LILO going for you!
First, make sure your name is on our list of instructors on the Create a Project page:
Second, send us an email using the "Contact Us" link above, or contact your campus LILO librarian.
Third, instruct your students to
- logon to LILO
- create a project
- select your name and course section
- and complete the modules or sections of modules you assign. Check out Integrating LILO into your course to decide what Module(s) are most important (LILO Librarians recommend Module 5 - Evaluate, since many students need practice with source evaluation.
Fourth, LILO Librarians will begin to assess your students' responses as they submit them. Students can update you on their progress by sending you formatted email updates of their research journals. Students can also use the "Run It By Your LILO Librarian" service where they can submit their journal to a librarian for review, comments, and assistance.
Lastly, LILO librarians will assess your students' Information Literacy competency based on national IL standards and UH-designed rubrics and produce a report for your review and comment.
You may elect to have a LILO Librarian:
- evaluate your students anonymously or include their names along with their responses
- handle your students as a single block regardless of the course and/or section(s) you teach, or
- evaluate the students separately for each of your sections (be sure to send us the days and times you meet so we can adjust the selection menus).
