November 24, 2009 on 2:41 pm | In Congratulations | No CommentsCongratulations to Tara Otomo and Elizabeth Knight for receiving the Maui Friends of the Library Scholarships for the Spring 2010 semester. They each received $1000 to further their studies in the LIS Program.
The Maui Friends of the Library provide this award for Maui residents, who are classified MLISc degree candidates. Applicants must be officially enrolled in the program to qualify.

FRIENDS OF THE HILO LIBRARY SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED

This $1,000 scholarship is given to a deserving graduate student on the Big Island. The Friends of the Hilo Library Scholarship is based on financial need as well as past academic performance and accomplishments. Students must be classified graduate students in the Library and Information Science Program. They must be currently enrolled for a minimum of three LIS credits.

Joe is a graduate of the UH LIS program and is currently a General Science
Librarian and Instruction Coordinator at Yale University. Joe has a vast amount
of experience with incorporating Web 2.0 technologies into libraries and will
share with us his personal experiences with text messaging at Yale.
