Library Forum: “iTunesU and the Library” presentation by Ruth Marie Quirk and Chelsea Bryson, Wed. February 6: 9am, HAM 301

The UH Systems has its own space in the world of iTunes now, and Ruth and Chelsea have been working with faculty helping them create sites to support their courses with several areas for library podcasts. They are also populating the Learning Resources section of UH iTunesU, which includes “Speakers on Campus,” “Public Domain Video Clips” and “How to Do Things.”

What can iTunesU do for _your_ library instruction or resource sharing? Examples of the uses of iTunesU at several major universities will be highlighted. Check it out at (Note: directions to open iTunesU are at

TIME: 9am for pastries and coffee; 9:30-10:30am for talk and Q&A

RuthMarie Pulelehua Quirk, MLS, MEd, is Manager of Operations at UHM’s Sinclair Library. She received her MLS from UH-Manoa Library and Information Science program in 1982, and her MEd from UHM College of Education in 2006, specializing in educational technology. She is constantly on the lookout for cool new ways to learn and teach. Her current interests include dancing, snorkeling, chat reference, posting to iTunesU, watching her iPod and playing with her Macintosh.

Chelsea Bryson is currently a graduate student in the Library and Information
Science program at UH-Manoa. Originally from Mystic, Conn., she received her bachelor’s ┬ádegree in History at ECSU and expects to graduate with her MLISc this spring. Chelsea just completed an internship at Sinclair Library’s Student Success Center developing programs related to Information Literacy and iTunesU.
