Our group supports our LIS students and keeps our alumni community informed of our professional accomplishments and the ongoing work of the LIS Program. We sponsor an LIS student award that each year provides monetary support for deserving students. When funding permits, we also sponsor an LIS Professional Award to honor the achievements of an outstanding alumnus. These awards are made possible chiefly by the fund-raising efforts of our volunteer board members and donations from our community. Please consider making a donation to support these efforts.
Due to the October 30, 2004 flood, Hamilton Library and the LIS Program sustained significant damage. The LIS facility was totally destroyed and will need to be entirely rebuilt. The first phase of planning is complete and renovation is scheduled to begin in late 2007 with a projected finish date of April 2009. The Alumni Group continues to collect flood recovery donations for the LIS Program. These funds will be used to purchase supplies and items that cannot be replaced under the University's insurance policy.
