PEARL Project Launches Training with Summer Institute

Teachers and librarians from ten Oahu high schools participated in a five-day June institute where they exchanged strategies and plans to help their students with research projects in the upcoming school year. The 29 participants are involved in a year-long course entitled Pathways to Excellence and Achievement in Research and Learning (PEARL) that is being conducted by the University of Hawaii’s Library and Information Science Program with funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Participating high schools include Aiea, Farrington, Kalaheo, Kalani, Kapolei, Leilehua, Mililani, Moanalua, Pearl City, and Waipahu.
