All LIS graduating students (Oral Exam and Thesis) must complete and return the Record of Service form, complete the Graduating Student Survey, and provide the LIS office with an updated permanent address by the announced deadline, generally the fourth week of the semester.

Students must also complete the Graduate Application for Degree. It is available on the Office of Graduate Education website under “Miscellaneous Forms.” It is generally due the third week of the semester. You must file this form and pay the appropriate fees by the deadline.

Near the end of each semester, Hui Dui hosts a dinner for graduates and their families at which the LIS Program distributes certificates and announces honors or awards. Hui Dui pays for dinner for graduates, but all guests and faculty pay for their own meal.

Information about the University Commencement is available at: It includes how to order announcements and obtain caps and gowns. Be sure to register for this event if you plan to participate. Don’t forget LIS is in the College of Natural Sciences. After exiting the arena, please pause for a moment to get a group photo of LIS students.

Students are encouraged to join the LIS-JOBS mailing list during their final semester in order to learn about job openings. For more job resources, see the Employment page.
