The Losey Lab: Research

Our lab's research involves the effects of ultraviolet radiation on organisms in the marine environment, principally fishes. We are currently investigating the ways that fishes both cope with, and utilize, the ultraviolet portion of the spectrum. Most of our research involves one of the two tools shown above: our submersible ultraviolet-sensitive videocamera and filter system, and our spectrophotometer.

We can divide our research projects into two categories, coping with UV, and using UV.
