Greenhouse Facility

The  Hawaiian Rare Plant Program Greenhouse Facility focuses on the conservation of rare plants through the implementation of good genetic management and plant propagation practices, for the sole purpose of increasing plant numbers and to serve as an ex situ "genetic safety net" site (for stock plants) within a nursery setting.  The Greenhouse Facility works in collaboration with government agencies, private landowners and botanical gardens by providing plants for Hawaii`s re-introduction/restoration programs in their efforts to stabilize existing populations and initiate new populations of endangered plants.
