After kicking off homecoming week with Coach June Jones’s ESPN 1420AM radio show (broadcast live on from Honolulu’s Willows restaurant), alumni gathered Friday night at the official UH Alumni Association Block Party hosted by Murphy’s Bar & Grill on Merchant Street downtown. More than 600 alumni and friends enjoyed the music of Lalea, Imua and the Sam Kapu Trio, purchased UH Centennial memorabilia and applauded a performance by the UH Cheerleaders.

On Saturday, a crowd of 30,000 celebrated as the Mānoa Warriors defeated Idaho in a 68-10 blowout at Aloha Stadium. Halftime entertainment was equally spirited, with a Halloween-themed show that had the UH Marching Band time warping to music from Rocky Horror Picture Show.

During a special halftime presentation, Don and Marion Murphy were presented with UHAA’s 2006 Outstanding Community Service Award in recognition of their dedicated and continued support of the University of Hawaiʻi and UH athletics.
