With faculty flown in from Honolulu and military science courses offered under interdisciplinary studies, the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo resumed its Reserve Officer Training Corps program in fall 2008.
Suspended in 1992, the program was revived in response to high JROTC enrollment in Big Island high schools and interest from local and mainland undergraduates. Its future direction hinges on response from UHH students.
