Marine Debris Awareness Month

The Sea Grant Hanauma Bay Education program, in partnership with the Beach Environmental Awareness Campaign Hawaiʻi (B.E.A.C.H.), hosts a series of lectures about the pervasive problem of marine debris.
- Oct. 9—Seabirds as Indicators of Plastic Pollution in the Marine Environment by David Hyrenbach
- Oct. 16—Marine Debris by Suzanne Frazer
- Oct. 23—Synthetic Polymers Entering the Marine Food Web by Charles Moore
- Oct. 30—Our Ocean Dumping Grounds: Consequences and Repercussions for Sea Turtles by Regina Woodrom Rudrud
