Mānoa men win WAC tennis title

Freshman Leo Rosenberg celebrates a key win
The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa men’s tennis team is headed to its second NCAA Tournament after capturing the Western Athletic Conference Tournament title April 26 in the UH Tennis Complex.
The 4-2 win over 20th-ranked Boise State secured the 68th-ranked Warrior’s second consecutive WAC win.
Third-seed Hawaiʻi (10-9) won the doubles match and three of five singles matches.
Three team members earlier made the WAC all-conference team—sophomore Dennis Lajola capturing first-team honors. Senior Sascha Heinemann and junior Andreas Weber made the second team. In doing so, Heinemann became the first Warrior to earn all-WAC honors all four years of his UH tennis career.
NCAA regional play begins May 9.
