From White Out, choreographed by Betsy Fisher, Gregg Lizenbery and Amy Lynn Schiffner.

Presented by the Department of Theatre and Dance, the annual dance concert spotlights both classical and contemporary forms on the Kennedy Theatre mainstage April 24, 25, May 1, 2 at 8 p.m. and May 3 at 2 p.m.

The 2009 concert features internationally known choreographer Keiko Fujii, whose new work, Entangled Offshoots, takes the simple movement of Japanese noh and metamorphosizes it into an explosive jazz finale.

Other performances include a newly choreographed hula—Storm–Ino Koʻolau by alumnus Michael Pili Pang (MFA ’05, Mānoa)—and a number of pieces with roots in a more western context, including a contemporary ballet.

Tickets are available online at etickethawaii.com, by phone at (808) 944-BOWS and at the Kennedy Theatre Box Office.
