I taught beach volleyball with Mike and Henry Bergmann in the early 70's at East Beach in Santa Barbara. Mike was an excellent teacher and a great person to boot. It does not amaze me that he has accomplished great achievements in volleyball. He and his family are top notch!

I'd like to send my best to Mike and all the Wilton family (Tino too!) I played for Mike at Cal Poly SLO (1978-9) when he first started coaching. It was an honor to get to know him and I have always enjoyed following his accomplishments over the last 31 years.
Take care Mike,

Aloha Everyone,

I'd like to start off by saying thank you to coach Mike Wilton and the wonderful staff that surrounded the whole program for my two memorable years as a Hawaii Warrior. I respected my coach for being who he was, disciplined and responsible. Everyone has their own stories, some good and some not. I was one of those players that had a good time. As a player you learn skills that develop during your athletic career and are a part of you long after you hang your shoes up. It was only through hard work and making the right choices that I was able to make it through the tough times as a student athlete on the men’s volleyball team. I believe coach Wilton wanted us to see that this was the way. I understand now how much coach Wilton had an impact on me. His lessons have helped me as I have travelled and made my way through life. I have expressed my gratitude many times before and I will do it again, thank you for positively impacting my life and giving me the chance to play for you.

Good luck coach,
