Among the UH alumni were Roosevelt High School class of 1977 grads—most of them friends since elementary school and Sigma Nu fraternity brothers at UH Mānoa—celebrating their 50th birthdays

UH fans are a special breed. Despite a 101-degree high on Sept. 19 in Las Vegas, 2,500 fans turned out for the University of Nevada–Las Vegas tailgate.

Amy Hānaialiʻi serenaded the crowd as folks enjoyed Hawaiian food at the party.

Although the Warriors fell to the Rebels in a one-point loss, there was at least one lucky winner: Kelly Nakano ’05 won the UH Alumni Association drawing for a trip to Kauaʻi.

Many thanks to California Hotel and Casino for hosting the tailgate; Hawaiian Airlines, Sheraton Kauaʻi Resort and Dollar Rent A Car for making the Kauaʻi trip giveaway possible; and to Phyllis Matsuda ’55, ’69, president of the UHAA–Las Vegas/Southern Nevada chapter, and all the chapter volunteers.
