I am so impressed that this project really stays focused on facilitating local needs. Local people decide what they want and work on it. Zahana provides information, connections and, of course, funds.

Thank you for the splendid account of the Zahana project. Zahana’s success in community-based development could be highlighted as a case study for classes in political science, economics, women’s studies, and other social sciences. Our students are often aware of global problems, but unfamiliar with successful programs addressing these problems.

The Zahana Project is a stellar example of public health education-in-action. I have followed this project since its inception and am amazed at what has been accomplished to date. Jeannette and Markus have themselves answered the question ‘What do you think will change your life for the better?” and lived that answer alive. Congratulations and may all your efforts take deep root, live on, and continue to multiply.

What a wonderful project that is community supported and that is working to meet the needs of that community. I have been fortunate to work with Jeannette on other community projects and I am always impressed with her sincerity and enthusiasm. I wish Dr. Ihanta continued success with her project.
