California alumni tailgate, sponsor scholarship

UH alumni in the Bay Area held several Road Warrior gatherings to charge fans up for the Nov. 21, 2009 San Jose State football game.
Kickoff parties were held at Hukilau plate lunch restaurants in San Francisco on Thursday and San Jose on Friday.
Alumni celebrated game day at a tailgate at Spartan Stadium before cheering the Warriors to a 17–10 victory in an overtime thriller.
All events were co-sponsored by the Hawaiʻi Chamber of Commerce of Northern California, the UH Alumni Association, Rainbowtique and Nā Koa Football Club.

Bay Area chapter sponsors scholarship
The UHAA–San Francisco Bay Area Chapter announced that it will sponsor an annual $3,000 scholarship for an incoming student in fall 2010.
Spearheaded by new board members and officers, the chapter plans events and fundraisers throughout the Bay Area, including a luau in summer 2010.
