Service awards presented by UHAA

The University of Hawaiʻi Alumni Association presented service awards for Chapter of the Year, Outstanding Community Service and Partner of the Year during UH Mānoa Homecoming 2009 weekend in November.

The Chapter of the Year Award was presented to the Engineering Alumni Association of UH during the chapter’s Nov. 4 Homecoming Celebration at Holmes Hall and the Wahine volleyball game. Pictured from left are UHAA Executive Director Janet Bullard ’82; UHAA President Mitch Kaʻaialiʻi ’92, ’97; College of Engineering Alumni Association of UH President Matt Fujioka ’99, ’07; and College of Engineering Dean Peter Crouch. The Engineering Alumni Association of UH chapter is one of the fastest growing and most active UHAA chapters.

The Outstanding Community Service Award was given to the Hawaiʻi Chamber of Commerce of Northern California during the homecoming football game. The award marks the group’s dedicated service to and support for the University of Hawaiʻi and UH athletics over the past 10 years. HCCNC has co-sponsored Road Warrior tailgates every year in Fresno or San Jose. The Partner of the Year Award was presented to Starwood Hotels & Resorts Hawaiʻi during a break in the Wahine volleyball game. The award is in appreciation for the company’s; ongoing support of UHAA programming and events and for its generosity in offering UH alumni discounts and donations.
