Hall of Honor and other Shidler alumni news

The Shidler College of Business launched its 60th anniversary celebration with a Hall of Honor Awards dinner and reunion on Oct. 15, 2009 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa.
The more than 750 alumni and guests enjoyed reunion receptions by decades, browsed galleries of photos from 1949 to present, viewed a special 60th anniversary historical video and vied for a Maserati and Harley prize drawing.
The formal program recognized alumni from the entering class of 1949 (class of ’52 and ’53) and the four new Hall of Honor inductees—Ross Murakami (BBA ’87), Howard Hamamoto (BBA ’53), Victor Lim (BBA ’73, MBA ’75) and Virginia Pressler (MBA ’74).
Entertainment included former Miss Hawaiʻi Candes Gentry (MBA ’04) and the UH Mānoa drum line.
Event proceeds benefited the Shidler College of Business Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship Fund. Mahalo to anniversary steering committee members Jay Shidler (BBA ’68), Robin Campaniano (MBA ’83), Howard Hamamoto (BBA ’53) and Barbara Tanabe (MBA ’83).
