The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa’s Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work launched Journal of Indigenous Voices in Social Work in February 2010.

Published bi-annually in open-access electronic form through a gift from Mānoa MSW alumna Sally Lampson Kanehe, the peer-reviewed journal is dedicated to improving social work practice and expanding knowledge relevant to indigenous peoples and the communities in which they live.

The first special issue contains papers presented at the 2007 Indigenous Voices in Social Work: Not Lost in Translation conference in Mākaha.
