Thank you very much for all that you have done! I had a pleasant stay at UH-Hilo while working on my undergrad as an international student. The campus was my home and the teachers were like my parents! Once again, thank you for fostering such an aloha spirit bottom-down and I hope you lead a prosperous life after stepping down.

To know you, is truly to love you!! It would take ten pages to list all the wonderful things that you have done for Hilo, via the UHH as Chancellor, but just two, Imiloa and the Pharmacy School, stand out in our mind immediatly.
Both my husband, Paul N. Tallett, and myself, would like to personally thank you for all you have done for our Community, which you have truly become a big part of !!!
We are so glad that you will stay on here, and do some research work and teaching now.
You are admired, respected and loved, Evonne F. Bjornen

I was very excited to see the new direction for University of Hawaii at Hilo, I attended and graduated from UH Hilo in 1987. I take pride in my university and enjoy visiting when on the island and being an alumni. I must say though, how disappointed I was to see the dis-repair and condition of the dorms, where I lived for four years. I took my Aunt and Uncle to the campus on a recent vacation and was almost ashamed to say that I lived there, paint faded and peeling, mold on walls and no landscape whats so ever, what a change from the dorms that I knew. I hope that there is a plan in place to improve these buildings that so many people hold in esteem. My friend from Maui just took her son to college at UH Hilo and conveyed the same remark. I hope that the next time that I can visit, I can say, that is what they used to be like. Thank you for your time.

It is really a motivating factor for women in leadership, education and business to work together to create and fill the need for cultural, economic and technological development for the BIg Island and the State. We need to all collaborate and pool our resources as we have so many people who care and understand the challenges of our children and community. Ikaika and Malama Pono to Dr. Tseng!

By: Mary Matayoshi Fri, 23 Jul 2010 12:49:09 +0000 Chancellor Rose Tseng’s competence and flair was just what UH-Hilo needed to prosper in the way it has. She was embraced by the community and in turn provided the climate that allowed the community to participate and have pride in the growth of UH-Hilo. It was match-making made in heaven! Her values and vision are exemplified in her actions. She always made time to meet with me as a community member when I called for an appointment, and was quick to offer avenues of support and connections to make things happen.
I look forward to similar growth at West Oahu College with Chancellor Awakuni and in Maui with Chancellor Sakamoto.
