Richard Yanagihara does research on vector-borne and viral zoonotic diseases (viruses that jump from animals to humans)

Biochemist Angel Yanagihara does research on toxinology and cell and molecular neurosciences, including mechanisms at work in box jelly venom

Both husband and wife are UH alumni.
