Association holds UHAA Day at Windward Mall

There was fun, free t-shirts and information at the University of Hawaiʻi Alumni Association’s first-ever UHAA Day Aug. 28, 2010, at Windward Mall.
Entertainer Billy V emceed the festivities and gave away prizes around the Kāneʻohe, Oʻahu mall’s Center Stage. Visitors learned more about UHAA and its programs, chapters, events and partners, as well as University of Hawaiʻi programs.
Entertainment included a performance by alumnus Ikaika “Ike” Tecson (BBA ’05 Mānoa). Waipuna and Audissey also performed.
The event co-sponsor, GEICO, received UHAA’s 2010 Partner of the Year award. The famous Gecko was a hit with kids.
“This is a new event for the UH Alumni Association,” said Janet Yoshida Bullard ’82, UHAA executive director and longtime member. “We’re trying to be more active in the community, let people know what our organization is all about and build pride for UH.”
