From sports to art to family fun, 2011 Homecoming events at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa promise something for everyone. Visit the homecoming website for details on these activities and information on additional events as they are added to the calendar:

  • Curator’s Choice Exhibit and related events
    Through Dec. 19, Hamilton Library Bridge Gallery
    Objects from university collections serving scientific, ethnographic, historical and cultural studies. Information on the Bridge Gallery
  • Homecoming Golf Tournament
    Oct. 18, 11:30 a.m., Hawaiʻi Prince Golf Course
    Sponsored by UH Army ROTC in partnership with UH Letterwinners Club to benefit the Army ROTC Fallen Warriors’ Memorial and Scholarship Endowment and to support cadet activities. Register online by Sept. 18.
  • College of Education Carl and Alice Daeufer
    Oct. 20, 6:30 p.m., Architecture Auditorium
    Urban sociologist Pedro Noguera, the Peter L. Agnew Professor of Education at New York University and executive director of the Metropolitan Center for Urban Education, discusses Creating the Schools We Need: A Broader and Bolder Approach to Reform.   • Family Weekend
    Oct. 21–23, various locations on the Mānoa campus
    Family members are invited to visit their student and become part of the UH Mānoa community. Registration begins July 15.
  • School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology Open House
    Oct. 21–22, 8:30 a.m.–2 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Saturday, Marine Science, Hawai’i Institute of Geophysics and POST buildings
    Entertaining and educational hands-on activities highlighting research conducted by SOEST students and staff. Learn more.
  • Back to Business
    Oct. 21, 3:30–7 p.m., Shidler College of Business
    Presentations by Shidler faculty on the latest business topics in Classrooms G-102 and G-103 followed by a Networking Reception in the courtyard.
  • School of Travel Industry Management Homecoming Reception

    Network with fellow TIM alumni. An online auction is also planned.
  • Homecoming Fair

  • Golden Scholars Reunion Class of 1961
    Oct. 21, campus location to be arranged
    The UH Alumni Association welcomes UH graduates who are celebrating their 50th reunion into a special circle of alumni called the Golden Scholars. Previous Golden Scholars are welcome, too. Learn more.

    Opening of an exhibition featuring the work of Pacific Rim ceramic artists invited to participate in a four-week intensive summer workshop with a reception beginning at 3 p.m. Also view the work of students assisting in the workshop at the adjacent Commons Gallery.
