Want to know more about the tiny islands, atolls and shoals known as the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands?
Check out the new Northwest Hawaiian Islands Research Partnership website launched by the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa’s Hawaiʻi Institute of Marine Biology.
From educational resources for elementary classrooms to scientific reports for serious investigators, the site provides an accessible look at research being conducted under the auspices of the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands Research Partnership within the 1,200 miles of Pacific Ocean known as the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument.
The site also highlights events and volunteer opportunities for community members and showcases the incredible beauty and unique features of the Hawaiian archipelago, says Carlie Wiener, outreach and research specialist on the site, which was developed by Hyperspective Studios.
