The Third Annual Business Plan Contest was held Thursday,
November 14, 2002 at Maui Community College, Center for Entrepreneurship.
Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners totaling $5000.00
was donated by Maui Enterprises Limited.

The booster award of $200.00 donated by Hawaii National Bank
was awarded to Jennifer Tom of Hawaii Web Link.
Web Link will provide web site hosting and Technical Consulting
to graphic and web site design companies.

A knowledgeable panel of Maui business people reviewed
the submitted business plans and made the awards.
They were: Alvin Imada of Bank of Hawaii,
Jill Engledow of Hawaii Community Foundation,
Barry Gay of Maui Economic Opportunity
and Billy Jalbert, private investor.

The Business Plan Class is offered three times a year and is cosponsored
by the Hawaii Small Business Development Center (HSMDC).
All plans developed through the classes can be submitted
into the contest in the Fall. David Fisher of HSBDC and
Anna K. Ribucan of, Maui Community College, Center for
Entrepreneurship were the course instructors and counselors.

The Center for Entrepreneurship is supported by a grant from the
Alexander and Baldwin Foundation. Through these funds and
the generous donations of Maui Enterprise Ltd.
And Hawaii National Bank, budding entrepreneurs can
get the help and support to be successful in business.
