| Aloha House, Inc. | Accreditation Intern | "Residential and outpatient treatment center for substance abuse clients. Office setting working with program directors and accreditation team" | Assist Aloha
House in obtaining re-accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation
of Rehabilitation Facilities. Assistance is essential to complete
the required paperwork generated during the accreditation process.
The anticipated goals and objectives for this position are: 1. Understanding
the intricacies of obtaining a national accreditation. Similar processes
used in Council on Accreditation (COA) and Joint Commission of Healthcare
Organizations (JCAHO). 2. Understanding and participating in the accreditation process and gaining a healthy respect for the amount of time and effort required. 3. By participating in the process, intern will be exposed to quality assurance of programs, with responsibilities and participation from all members of the organization, starting with entry-level positions and ending with the Board of Directors. 4. Intern will be able to organize and direct quality assurance (if not an actual accreditation) in future job positions. |

Located on Kauai. Housing provided. Weekly living allowance. Interns will conduct weed control in a diversity of habitats. Conduct threat control around rare plant species. Identify location of GPS coordinates for daily work sites; download GPS info into ArcView; print maps. Assist with greenhouse work. Occasional trail maintenance. Physically demanding; able to hike up to 10 miles per day, backpack 35 pounds and cap in remote areas. Experience with Hawaiian flora and fauna helpful. Hawaii driver's license and clean traffic abstract. |
