System-Wide
Articulation Agreement
Business Technology program course alphas and numbers have been changed
beginning in Fall 2006 to be consistent with a new Articulation Agreement
that covers all University of Hawaii Community Colleges. This agreement
insures a seamless Business Technology curriculum throughout the entire
UH system. Business Technology courses at the UH Community Colleges
will have the same alphas, course numbers and course descriptions, and
credits that students earn in these classes will be fully transferrable
to the other campuses.
Course
Cross Reference (BUS/BCIS and BUSN)
Changes from the old alphas for Business (BUS) and Business Computing
Information Systems (BCIS) to the new Business Technology alpha (BUSN)
may be found by clicking on the link above. The BUS alpha will continue
to be used for some business classes, but the BCIS alpha has been discontinued.
Additional
Program Changes
In addition to the changes required by the Articulation Agreement a
few changes in course requirements and sequencing were also made. These
are effective in Fall 2006.
The Business
Technology Certificate of Achievement (CA) now requires BUSN157
Desktop Publishing for Business. The CA no longer requires BUSN110
Office Computer Troubleshooting & Maintenance or BUSN183
Executive Transcription.
The Business
Technology Associate in Applied Science (AAS) now offers a choice between
BUSN110 Office Computer Troubleshooting &
Maintenance or BUSN261 Web Page Construction.
This change applies to specializations in Information
Processing, Legal Office, and Medical
Office but not Health Unit Coordinator.
The AAS
in Information Processing now offers a wider range of choices for
one 3 credit elective. The student may now choose from: ACC125,
BUSN110, 183, 261,
262, ICS161 or 205.
This will give more flexibility to students in the last semester of
the Information Processing specialty.
